Selection of 2006-07 UJC Religious Pluralism approved projects

Religious Pluralism is the greatest challenge to Jewish unity in Israel today.  Many Israelis divide the Jewish world into “religious” and “secular.” Growing up in the secular world, many know little about Jewish religion and the variety of ways in which it is practiced.

Through its support of religious pluralism programs, United Jewish Communities of MetroWest NJ is helping to give Israelis the range of Jewish choices that American Jews enjoy.

UJC MetroWest promotes tolerance of diverse Jewish thought and practice in Israel by working with Progressive, Conservative, Orthodox, and independent programs. For the 2006-07 fiscal year, $370,000 has been allocated to support 33 programs.

Religious Pluralism programs are connecting Israelis with the richness, vibrancy, and variety of their Jewish heritage.
