A Druze village in the northern Galillee, MetroWest became involved in Horfesh as a result of the Second Lebanon War in 2006. MetroWest recognized the significant contribution that the Druze population makes to the State of Israel through its loyal participation in civil affairs and the Israel Defense Forces. Druze villages in the north were subjected to bombardment during the war. MetroWest is involved in:

• A twinning between the community centers in Horfesh and our longstanding partnership community of Ramat Eliahu (Rishon LeZion).
• Creation of an emergency volunteer center.
• Assistance for the schools
• Jewish Agency Youth Futures program for children at risk
