Cecile Holzman Seiden Scholarship Program
Cecile Holzman SeidenCecile devoted much of her time teaching children, youth, educators, and the general community about the Holocaust. Each year, a select group of educators will be transported to the Museum of Jewish Heritage for a special tour and an associated workshop that will include learning about Cecile’s story of surviving as a hidden child. more
Survivors Speak
Survivors Speak is a program originally developed by the Holocaust Council of MetroWest for The Morris Museum as part of their outreach to schools.

The program consists of two speakers who are eyewitnesses to the Holocaust (survivors, liberators, POWs) and a moderator. more
Twin-With-A-Survivor Scholarship Program
Twin-with-a-SurvivorThe Holocaust Council of MetroWest created Twin-With-a-Survivor in 2001 to provide B’nai Mitzvah students the opportunity to make personal connections to Survivors who exemplify continued commitment to the Jewish community. more
Adopt-a-Survivor
adopt a survivorAdopt-A-Survivor is a program “to preserve and perpetuate the N’shamah – the soul and spirit of Shoah Survivors.” The program pairs a Survivor with one or more students. The student(s) become familiar with the Survivor’s life in order to tell that Survivor’s story in a public venue in the year 2045, a hundred years after the liberation of Auschwitz. more

Real to Reel — Inglourius Basterds

Inglourious Basterds, written and directed by Quentin Tarantino, tells the story of two plots to assassinate the Nazi Germany political leadership, one planned by a young French Jewish cinema proprietor, and the other by a team of Jewish Allied soldiers (known as “The Basterds”) led by Lieutenant Aldo Raine. A fantasy on revenge, the film has received multiple awards and nominations, including eight Academy Award nominations.

Lunch 'n Learn presents author

Rogert Flarety with a copy of his book. Roger Flarety researched and edited the history of his family members who were murdered during the Holocaust in what is now Belarus. He is the author of The Holocaust Strikes Home.

Flarety was the featured speaker at a Lunch ‘n Learn sponsored by the Holocaust Council of MetroWest. At the January 13 event, Flarety spoke and gave a PowerPoint presentation based on his research into his grandmother’s family who remained in Europe at the turn of the last century. Most of them were killed by mobile killing squads during the Holocaust.
