Panetta announces $70 million for Iron Dome near term

WASHINGTON (JTA) — The Obama administration said it would rush $70 million to Israel in order to enhance its Iron Dome missile defense system, with more money in the pipeline. Secretary of Defense Leon Panetta said Thursday after meeting with his Israeli counterpart, Ehud Barak, that he was directed by President Obama to meet Israel's needs for the system as indicated by Barak. more

fact of the week World ORT Advances Education in Israel
May 17, 2012

Over the five years that World ORT has worked with the Rodman High School in Kiryat Yam, students’ eligibility for matriculation has increased to 88 percent, from just 50 percent. Rodman was the first school that Jewish Federations-supported World ORT engaged through its Science Journey - Kadima Mada program, which combines state-of-the-art, interactive classrooms with progressive science and technology education.
